Eyelash Extensions

During a lash extension procedure, you will lie on your back with your eyes closed, often finding the experience so relaxing that you may even fall asleep. The artist begins by brushing and cleaning your lashes to remove any makeup residue. To keep your lower lashes out of the way, they are covered with medical tape or a gel patch. The application process starts with the artist isolating a single natural lash using specialized tweezers, applying adhesive to the extension, and bonding it securely to the natural lash—never to the skin. Once all lashes on one eye are complete, the process is repeated on the other to ensure an even appearance.
To maintain your lash extensions, avoid touching them right after application and keep them away from oil-based products, such as makeup removers and lotions. Additionally, refrain from exposure to steam rooms, saunas, pools, or water for the first 24-48 hours. Lash extensions typically last between two and four weeks, depending on your natural lash growth cycle. You can still wear eye makeup, but avoid oil-based products as they can weaken the adhesive. When removing makeup, use an oil-free remover and a cosmetic sponge instead of cotton pads, which can leave residue in your lashes.
Lash extensions naturally fall out over time as your natural lashes go through their growth cycle. If you wish to remove them sooner, it is best to have them professionally removed. Some lash extensions come in the form of fan lashes, which are multiple extensions joined together at the base to create a fuller look. These are applied in the same way as individual extensions, giving a more voluminous effect.
